John A. Augustine, Jr., 62, Succumbs Here in Hospital

John A. Augustine, Jr., 62, secretary of Lewis G. Chewning, Inc., and former officer of Company B of the Richmond Blues, died Friday at Grace Hospital.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary Harwood Augustine, 7 Lexington Rd.; two sons, Major John A. Augustine, III, and Lieutenant Charles H. Augustine, both of the Air Forces; a daughter, Mrs. Cary Gordon Eggleston, and his mother Mrs. John A. Augustine, Sr., both of Richmond; two brothers, Harry H. Augustine, Richmond, and W. F. Augustine, Boston, Mass., and two sisters, Mrs. Bradley J. Boissieux, of Richmond, and Mrs. Douglas G. Adair, Birmingham, Ala.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday at the home of Harry H. Augustine, 1808 Park Ave., and burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be R. B. Augustine, Lucien Bass, Otey N. Miller, L. Hugh Thompson, Lee Davis, Dr. Hunter Frischkorn, and John B. Cary.

Mr. Augustine served as a first lieutenant of Company B, Richmond Blues, on the Mexican border during 1916, and later served overseas during World War I as captain of Company B.
