Catherine Burley Augustine Alexander, age 73, years of age and a native of Marksville, was called by her heavenly Father on June 14, 2005 to be reunited with her loving spouse, Harold "Son" Alexander.
She was an active member of the Holy Ghost/St. Richard Catholic Community and a retired teacher's assistant in the Avoyelles School System.
She is survived by two sons, Lynn G. Alexander and wife Zaida of Abbeville and Michael F. Alexander and wife Patricia of Alexandria; three daughters, Elizabeth Alexander Butler and husband Dr. Brett Butler of Lake Charles, Nora Alexander Marie Alexander both of Marksville; eight grandchildren, Brandon Butler, Joseph Scott, Tyler, Raven, Cameron, Jada, Nicole and Christopher Alexander; one brother, Dr. Merlin Augustine of Fayetteville, Arkansas; four sisters, Josephine Fontenot and Dorothy Rogers of Marksville, Audrey Keller of Bunkie and Sister Concetta Augustine of New Orleans; adopted sister, Karen Alexander of Baton Rouge; two foster brothers, Peter Sarpy of Houston, Texas and Michael Sarpy of Simmesport; sister-in-law, Clara Martin of Cottonport.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Son" Alexander; one son, Harold N. Alexander, Jr.; her parents, Nora and Merlin Augustine, Sr.; her father and mother-in-law, Elizabeth and Octave Alexander; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2005 at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Marksville.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 17, 2005 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a Christian wake service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum #3 in Marksville.
