Note 6/23/2015: In an email suggestion from Find A Grave Contributor "A. Cellier", #47405481, it was advised that Julius Augustine was reported in a family genealogy to have been buried in the "Piedmont Cemetery" in Oakland, California. As there is no "Piedmont Cemetery" in Oakland, I reviewed other Oakland and Alameda County cemeteries and identified that Mountain View Cemetery, located on Piedmont Avenue had the potential to be the cemetery cited by A. Cellier.

A further review of tombstone transcriptions recorded by David Johnson in 2004, posted to the California Tombstone Transcription Project for Mountain View Cemetery revealed that Julius Augustine's gravestone was recorded by Mr. Johnson. Johnson lists him as:

Augustine, Julius
Died 4/22/1869
Plot: 14B
Notes: Aged 48y N/O: Bohemia

As a result of this information, the Find A Grave Memorial for Julius Augustine has been moved to show him buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland, Alameda County, California.

Also included in correspondence from A. Cellier were the following newspaper accounts:

Territorial Enterprise - April 24,1869
Large Funeral -
The funeral of Julius Augustine ( not John, as we were led to state, erroneously), at Silver City, was very largley attended. The funeral ceremonies were conducted by the Masons--deceased being a Mason, high in the Order--and Masons from this city and all the towns in this part of the State were present. The large hall was crowded during the in-door ceremonies, and the procession accompanied the remains--which will be sent East--half way to Gold Hill, and a few carriages followed the hearse through this city and for some distance out upon the Geiger Grade. He was a man universally esteemed, and his death is much lamented not only in Silver City but wherever he was known.

Grant County Herald - Lancaster, Wisconsin - May 18, 1869 (page 3 col 2)
Death of Julius Augustine -
Died a month since, at Silver City, Nevada, Mr. Julius Augustine, in his fifty first year. The Virginia City Enterprise announced that his remains were carried to San Francisco for burial, the Masonic Fraternity having charge of the funeral according to their solemn rites. Mr. Augustine came to this country near thirty years ago and settled at Potosi where he followed merchandising. A dozen years ago he removed to Platteville and was associated with Mr. Virgin in the milling , and also with McCarn in the banking. Four or five years since he removed to California. He had many friends and was noted for success in business pursuits. He left a family, chiefly grown up.
