Leola E. Alderdyce, 90, of Tecumseh, died Feb. 9, 1999, at the Lenawee Medical Care Facility. She was born Sept. 30, 1908, in Tecumseh, the daughter of Oliver and Inice (Mattison) Avery. On July 19, 1930, she married Cecil Alderdyce in Tecumseh. She was a lifelong resident of Tecumseh and spent many winters in Punt Gorda, Fla. She was formerly active musically at the First Baptist Church, Tecumseh. Leola is survived by a sister, Dola (Frank) Bolak of Dewey Lake and two nieces, Marilyn Nobles of Tecumseh and Dorothy (Robert) Flynn of Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cecil, in 1990; a brother, Ned Lanning; a stepbrother, Merle Lanning; and a stepsister, Leora Nobles. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with the Rev. Lawrence Cox officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh.
