Born in Avenel, NJ, Dorothy lived in Rahway, N.J., before moving to Berkeley Township in 1989. She worked as a senior clerk for Elizabethtown Gas in Elizabeth, N.J., retiring after 34 years of service.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert E. Avery, in 1988, and is survived by her son, Albert Avery, of Toms River, NJ, and a brother, Harold Glester, and his wife, Dana, of Fort Myers, Fla.
