WILLIAMSTOWN – Barbara Ann Hepburn-Axton, 75, died Sunday morning, April 18, 2010, surrounded by her loving family after a short illness.

Born in Hartford, Conn. on March 10, 1935, daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Davis) Cripps and a graduate of Buckley High School in Hartford.

She had several jobs during her life, most importantly a mother. She moved to Vermont in 1983, and was employed at the Norwich University Bookstore and Vermont Associates.

Barbara was married to the late Edward R. Hepburn and later married Frederick Axton who pre-deceased her.

Barbara is survived by 11 children: Cindy Hepburn of Feeding Hills, Mass., Betty and Frank Brown of Granville, Mass., Teri and Bankim Parikh of Lilburn, Ga., Ed and Sue Hepburn of Southwick, Mass., Kim and Mike Crow of Westfield, Mass., Luanne McCarthy of Washington, Barbara Hepburn-Hanson of Branford, Conn. and Southwick, Mass., Scott and Sarah Hepburn of Granville, Mass., Robert Hepburn and Kris Morande of Williamstown, Ken Hepburn and his fiancée Pam Goodwin of Northfield, and Jodi and Keith Bliss of Spring City, Pa. She was also a loving Nana to Milissa, Tricia, Matthew, Jamie, Nicole, Angela, Kaily, Carly, Christina, Michael, Sean, Ryan, Jaclyn, Allison, Annalia, Abbigail, Kevin, Jacob, Ellyse, Christian, Scotty, Jordan, Justin, Seth, Drew, Brandon, Justin, Alyssa, John, Samantha, Joshua, Miranda, Savannah; three great-grandchildren, Vincent, Dylan, Jase, and all children who walked through her door; also a sister, Shirley Zybura of Enfield, Conn., sister- in- laws, Jeannie, Ellie, Sally, Sharon, Lynnie, and the late Rosemary and brother-in-laws, Fred and the late Richard.

Memories may be shared during calling hours at the Kingston Funeral Home, 35 Slate Avenue, Northfield on Thursday, April 22 from 4 - 8 p.m. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 23, at 11 a.m. in St. Edward's Church in Williamstown with Reverend Kevin Rooney. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Northfield. Memorial contributions in memory of Barbara A. Hepburn-Axton are suggested to Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice, 600 Granger Road, Barre, VT 05641 or St. Edward's Church, 206 Vine St., Northfield, VT 05663.
