Dorothy, daughter of Anna West and Willis Ayres, was born May 16, 1914, in Weldon, Ill. She married Lyle F. Armstrong on Sept. 5, 1936.
She was preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers and sisters, and her husband Lyle.
Surviving are a sister and brother; and two sons, F. Lee Armstrong (Sue) of Normal, Ill., and Larry D. Armstrong (Lee Ann) of Noblesville, Ind. She also is survived by five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy & Lyle resided in Peoria, Ill., until 2001, when they moved to Indianapolis.
She retired from WABCO in 1979.
Dorothy accompanied her husband during volunteer blood drives for the Peoria Red Cross for 15 years.
She enjoyed traveling and camping.
