AYRES- Helen Margaret (nee Cope) of Northland Pointe died on Monday October 8, 2007 at the age of 86 years. Beloved wife of the late Tom Ayres (1975), loving mother of Thomas Ayres and Ruth Ayres both of Welland, sister of Harry (Thelma) Cope of Welland. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her niece Barbara (Don) Parsons of Welland. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her parents Charles and Maggie Cope, her brother Donald Cope, her sister Dorothy Beck, her infant brother Hubert Cope and her nephew Leonard Beck. Helen grew up in Bethel and has resided in Welland for most of her life. Mrs. Ayres family will receive visitors at the PORT COLBORNE CHAPEL of the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOMES 135 Clarence St. on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday October 12, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Steven Davis of Central United Church officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Ridgeville. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or a charity of one's choice.
