David J. Babcock died on Saturday morning, February 1, 1992, in Green Bay after a short illness. He was the son of the late David C. and Carrie (Sievert) Babcock, born on April 29, 1920 in Merrimac.

Dave served during WW ll in the U.S. Navy and was an advanced torpedo man. He was active in the trucking industry for 45 years and was associated with Consolidated Freightway, where he served as midwest division manager and terminal manager. He was a member of the Experienced Traffic Club, member of the Pine Snakes, the Green Bay Golden K, and was a life member of the Green Bay Traffic Club.

He will be sadly missed by daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Mike Shepardson of Green Bay, Nancy and Steve Meckel of Muscatine, Iowa; his former wife, Anita of Muscatine, Iowa; grandsons, Dave, Kevin and Guy Shepardson; sisters-in-law, Iola Babcock and Viola Babcock, both of Madison; his loving friend, Eleanor Iwen of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews; and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Natalie Shepardson; his parents; two brothers and a sister.
