Ms. Givens, 68, was the daughter of the late John and Alice Bacciochi and the wife of the late Charles R. Givens. She was a journalist for many years. She was survived by a daughter, two sons and one grandson.

GIVENS Elizabeth B Givens, aged 68, beloved wife of the late Charles R. Givens, entered into eternal rest unexpectedly on Friday, April 18, 2008. "Bette" to most, and "Mother Hen" to her children, born in Ridgefield and longtime resident of Westport, is the loving daughter of the late John and Alice Bacchiochi. Bette attended Ridgefield High School and attended Barnard College. Having shared a passion, special gift, and flair for writing, she was a journalist for many years. Extremely fond of family, friends, and colleagues, she was a devoted mother and loyal companion. Treasuring time at the beach she was an avid reader, an immense animal lover, and held a special affection for both cats and dogs. She candidly embraced life, always maintaining a positive demeanor. The family wishes to extend warmest gratitude and thanks to Bridgeport Manor and Yale School of Medicine for their ongoing support and tender care.
Survivors include her loving children and one grandson.
