Donna Lael (Bachelder) Ash, age 82, of Kechi, Kan., passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008, in Wichita, Kansas. She was born April 15, 1926 in Valley Center, Kansas to Everett Leo Bachelder and Mildred Mae (Lavender) Bachelder. On September 5, 1948 she married Eston R. Ash. To this union were born two sons, James `Jim` and Craig. She attended beauty school and had salons in several locations. She retired as a beautician after 23 yrs. Donna was a member of Valley Center First United Methodist Church since early childhood; and Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was a Valley Center resident until moving in 2002 to Kechi; but Valley Center was still her hometown. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, James & Jacque Ash of Andover; son & daughter-in-law, Craig & Eugenia Ash of Boca Raton, Fla; grandchildren: Brice & Betsy Ash Pufahl of Andover; Jessica and Sergio Ash of Vicenza, Italy; John Ash of Wichita, Ks; great granddaughter Matilde of Italy and great grandson, Levi; brothers: William `Bill` Bachelder of Lake Jackson, Texas; Lawrence Bachelder of Yates Center, Kan; Doyle Bachelder of Valley Center, Kan; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eston Ash; and parents, Everette & Mildred Bachelder. Arrangements are being handled by Baker Funeral Home, 100 South Cedar, PO Box 242, Valley Center, Kan., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Funeral service will be at First United Methodist Church at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 28, 2008 , Reverend Carol Moore Ramey officiating. Interment will be at Sunnydale Park Cemetery in Valley Center, Kansas. Memorials are designated to the First United Methodist Church, 560 N Park, Valley Center, KS 67147.
