Ann was born Angro (Angers?) T, Ellis on Sep 15, 1911, in Henderson County, Texas. Her family and friends called her Ann. Her parents were Claude Wooten Ellis (b. 1880, d. 1918), a farmer, and Stella Vernett Sanders (b. 1884, d. 1961), a farmer and mother of 8 children. Ann had 3 brothers and 4 sisters, Clebert (b. 1901), Katy (b. 1903), Modie (b. 1905), Dollie (b. 1907), Nellie (b. 1909), Rosie (b. 1913) and Bitha (b. 1916). After the death of Ann's father in 1918, Ann's mother carried on with farming with the assistance of her 8 children. Ann grew up on the family farm, and in her late teens, she married Garnett Bowman (Joe) Russell (b. 1908, d. 1981), also a farmer. She had three children, Dorthy Ellawease (b. 1928, d. 1930, diptheria), Relda (Rusty) Maxine (b. 1933, d. 2014) and Nance Genell (Genell) (b. 1936, d. 2007). In the late 1940's, Ann separated from her husband and took up residence in San Diego, California, with her youngest daughter, Genell. In the 1950s, she met and fell in love with Waddy (Waddy) Wilson Bacon (b. 1919, d. 1989), a WW II veteran and fireman with the San Diego Fire Department. In the late 1950's, they married and settled into their home on Illion St in San Diego with her daughter Genell. They remained at the family home for the rest of their married life, and Ann continued to live on Illion St until her 80th birthday, when she then went to live with her daughter, Genell, and her son-in-law, Phineas Page (Page) Nelson, in Lakeside, California. During her married life with Waddy, and following his death, Ann developed a very successful and profitable direct marketing business (Shaklee Products), and she remained an active and successful business woman until her death at the age of 89. Her remains were buried next to her husband's in La Vista Memorial Park, National City, California.
