Ida Viola McVay Bacon, age 89, passed away on Friday evening Dec 19, 1997 at St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. Born in Petalum, Calif. in 1908. Mrs. Bacon was the daughter of Clarence McVay and Daphne Dudley McVay, a pioneer California family and longtime business owners in San Diego. Mrs. Bacon was a homemaker, traveler and an active member of the Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her daughter Daphne Fortin of Gilford, New Hampshire and she had lived with her grandson Mr. Thomas L. Tucker of Asheville, NC. A graveside Service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery Monday, December 19th at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials may be made to The Gideons International.
