PEMBROKE - Mrs. Linda Bacon Adams, 66, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 29, 2016, at her home after a brief illness.
Mrs. Adams was a lifelong resident of Pembroke and was of the Baptist faith. She was owner and operator of the Whistle Stop Café and formerly served for many years as cook, waitress, cashier and manager for Cowart's Café, Sandra's Seafood and Lou Ann's Café. She was an excellent cook and loved to fish, go to the beach, play slot machines and garden.

Mrs. Adams was a wonderful, loving and caring daughter, sister, wife and mother.
She was predeceased by her father, J.T. Bacon; and her husband of 44 years, Alfred Gene Adams Sr.
Survivors include her mother, Mattie Lee Shuman Bacon of Pembroke; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Andy Coleman Jr. of Pembroke; son, Alfred Adams Jr. of Guyton; brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas and Christy Bacon of Columbia, South Carolina, Joe Bacon of Savannah, Kenny Bacon of Pembroke and Mike and Judy Bacon of Pembroke; sisters and brothers-in-law, Miriam and Joe Smith of Claxton, Jewel Dean Coley of Augusta, Brenda and Mike May of Orlando and Sissy and Oren Blair of Black Creek; grandchildren, Andy Allen Coleman, Jessica Michelle Vance, Kimberly Christian Waring and Tiffany Diane Adams; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home, 197 S. College St. in Pembroke. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, in the funeral-home chapel. Interment will follow in Northside Cemetery.
Flanders Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
