Aletha Sikes Bacon, 90, died
Friday, March 13, 2009, at Glenvue
Nursing Home. The Evans County
native had lived in this area most of her
life. She was a homemaker, and of the
Baptist faith. She was preceded in
death by her husband, William Harvey
Bacon.
She is survived by daughters and
sons-in-law, Wanda and Harry Futch of
Ludowici and Lynn and Wayne Sapp
and Judy and David Waters of Claxton;
sons and daughters-in-law, Ted Bacon
of Glennville and Larry and Jane
Bacon of Macon; sisters: Nell
Surrency, Lynette Thompson, and
Alene Moore, all of Claxton; ten
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren;
one great-great-grandchild; and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3
p.m. Monday, March 16, from the
Chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral
Home, with the Rev. Kenny Edwards
officiating. Burial was in Beards
Creek Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Carl Futch,
Ashley Bacon, Jeremy Bacon, Kevin
Sapp, Phil Futch, and Cheyenne
Gradstaff.
Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home
of Glennville, Georgia, was in charge
of the arrangements.
