Alfred Clay Bacon ( Jr ) was the son of Alfred C. Bacon and Emily ( Emma) Stubbs Bacon. He was one of 6 children.

As he was born in 1844, he would have been only 16 years old when the Civil War broke out, yet he joined and served in the GA 5th Calvary. Following the war , he married Nancy Canady in 1868. She was the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Jane Delegal Canady of Bryan County, GA. It seems that Alfred and Nancy Bacon had one child, Agnes Bacon, but more research is needed. Agnes married James Elisha Hagin, but it seems the marriage ended in divorce as James remarried before the death of Agnes.
