Deon Smith Bagley passed away on December 9, 2009 at her home at the age of eighty-three. She was surrounded by her children and granddaughter Amber, her pride and joy. She resided at 146 West 9400 South in Sandy, Utah at the time of her death.
She was born February 14, 1926 to Parley Pratt Smith and Leona Allen Smith in Draper, UT. (She was our Valentine).
She married her sweetheart, Darwin, on February 21, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple. She served in Relief Society as a counselor, Primary counselor, Primary teacher and Scout leader with her husband. She was a loving and caring mom, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her daughter, Merridy; son, Jeff (Carole); granddaughter, Amber; step-grandchildren, Levi (Kelli Jo), Cody (Julia), Camille (Jason); great-granddaughter, Paidyn; step-great-grandchildren, Dallas, Ashley, Baily, Shyanne, Tristan, Dustin, and one on the way. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Helen Burke, Marion (Dan) Damjanavich, Claire Cordner, Allen (Joyce) Smith, Willis (Marilyn) Smith, Paul (Shirley) Smith, Carolyn (George) Showell; brother-in-law, Cliff Hales; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband; her parents; sister, LaRae Hales; sisters-in-law, Romada, and Lois; and brother-in-law, LeRoy.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Riverbend Ward Chapel, 8825 South 150 West. There will be a viewing held on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), and again Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the Church.
Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
