Carl R. Bailey, Sr., 82, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Holden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after an illness.

His beloved wife of 50 years, Theresa L. (Archambeault) Bailey, passed away in 2004.

Carl was predeceased by his son, Joseph G. Bailey and his sister, Susan Glynn.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Carl G. and Elsie M. (Lyon) Bailey and had lived in Holden and Winchendon before moving to Rutland.

Carl enlisted in the Army National Guard and served for one year before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1948. He was an Airman First Class and served for over three years with the 801st Supply Squadron during the Korean Conflict.

After serving his country, Carl became a truck driver for several area companies including New England Grocery in Worcester and R. J. Paquette Construction Company in Holden. Previously, he was a milkman for Lundgren & Jonaitis Dairy Farms in Shrewsbury.

He was a member of Chaffin Congregational Church in Holden and the Harold N. Keith American Legion Post 204 in West Boylston.

A private committal service will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
