Barbara Sue ‘Barb' Bailey
MULLENS — Barbara Sue "Barb" Kidd Bailey, 59, of Mullens, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.
Born April 9, 1951, at Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Charles T. and Ethel Olivia (Coleman) Kidd.
Barb was a Registered Nurse having worked at Welch Community Hospital, was a member of the Brenton Baptist Church, and former member of the Mullens Saddle Club.
She was an avid gardener, loved horses, and spending time on her farm.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her grandparents.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Charles Randolph "Tinker" Bailey; a son, Chief Petty Officer Shannon Sykes and his wife, Nancy, of Norfolk, VA, and their children, Nicholas and Arianna Sykes both of Norfolk, VA; a sister, Brenda Butcher and her husband, Richard, of Brenton; a brother, Charles W. Kidd and his wife, Vickie, of Maben; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Services will be noon Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Knotts officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Bowers Hospice House for the care Barb received during her illness.
