Irma Faye Bainbridge Ausburn, a native of Palatka, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 at her home in Tucson, Arizona. She was a daughter of the late Charles Emery and Dorothy Kennard Bainbridge.


Irma was a graduate of the 1954 class of Palatka High School. She spent her career as a legal secretary in Palatka, Jacksonville, and Tucson. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and working crossword puzzles. She had enjoyed square dancing and traveling the world and United States with family. Irma had been a volunteer with Mobile Meals of Tucson.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Omar Douglas Ausburn, deceased in Tucson in 1979; and siblings, Barbara Bainbridge McCorkel, Allan W. Bainbridge, and Donald Bainbridge.


Survivors include her beloved daughter, Terri Lynn (Tim) Hendricks of Tucson; loving stepchildren, Doug (Myong) Ausburn of Aurora, Colorado, Mary Jane (Steve) Dickinson of Peoria, Illinois, Gail Ausburn of East Peoria, Illinois, and Aggie (Brian) Shults of Golconda, Illinois; her grandchildren, Dominic (Nicole) Rullo and Noah Hendricks of Tucson; siblings who thought of Irma as their "little momma", Margaret Bainbridge (Stanley) Drewes of Keystone Heights, Katherine Bainbridge (Hank) Dickinson of Jacksonville, and David Bainbridge of St. Augustine Beach. There were many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who loved and cherished the time spent with their Aunt Irma. She also had many lifelong friends who will miss her very much.


Services were at 11 am Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Dr. Benny Reynolds officiating.
