Elva E. (Bainbridge) Anderson, 93, of Tucson, formerly of Rockford, Ill., passed on to be with her husband and her Lord on April 26, 2010. Born in Rockford to Harry and Delphine Bainbridge, she sang in a group called the "Two Little Girls in Blue" where she met and married Harris Anderson, a guitar player accompanying the group for live radio. Elva was a medical secretary and receptionist for several physicians, president of the Lincoln Park School PTA, superintendent of the St. John's EUB church Sunday school, and instrumental in the preservation of the Lincoln Park Stone School. Pursuing her passion for genealogy, she was an early discoverer of the location of the Apple River Fort on the former farm of her great-grandfather. She and Harris were members of the Beth Eden UMC in Rockford. She moved to Tucson with Harris early in 2004. Survived by son, Steve; daughter-in-law, Marianne; and grandson, Tyler, all of Tucson; as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Harris; parents; and siblings, Ronald and Lorna. Elva will be laid to rest this summer with Harris and her family in Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford, at which time services will be held.
