Lauretta Peterson, 94, of Aurora, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in Florence, Wis.
She was born July 9, 1915, in Kalamazoo County, Mich., daughter of the late Forest and Nora May (Andersen) Bair.
Lauretta married Enar Peterson on Aug. 28, 1948, in Iron Mountain, and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1995. She and her husband owned and operated the Homestead General Store for 15 years.
Lauretta was a long-time member of Homestead Baptist Church and always enjoyed attending Sunday services. She enjoyed crocheting, watching baseball, traveling to Arizona with Enar and feeding and watching birds.
Lauretta is survived by a brother, Auris Bair; two sisters, Ada May Bahr and Marion Grace Barhitte; step-brothers and step-sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Homestead Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Pastor Rick Malone will officiate.
Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.
