George N. Baker, 68, 800 Haines Ave., died unexpectedly at his home Monday afternoon after apparently suffering a heart attack. He was a native of Indianapolis, but had resided in Muncie since 1927. He had been associated with the Lone Star Cement Corp. the past 32 years.

He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist of Muncie, a member of the Mother Church at Boston, Mass., and a member of the Elks Lodge of Muncie and the Ancient Landmark Masonic Lodge of Indianapolis.

Surviving are his wife, Mae; a son, Jack of Lawrence; his mother, Mrs. Sarah Baker of Indianapolis; and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Meeks Mortuary. Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Wednesday. The place of burial will be announced later.
