M. Mae Baker, 81, former Muncie resident and widow of George N. Baker, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at her apartment, in Indianapolis, apparently as the result of a heart attack. She was born in Tennessee and lived in Indianapolis many years before coming to Muncie. She returned to live in Indianapolis about two years ago.
Mrs. Baker was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist in Muncie, the Mother Church in Boston, Mass., was past president of Muncie Organ Club, and belonged to Queen Esther Chapter 3, Order of Eastern Star, Indianapolis. She was also a member and past president of American War Mothers, Muncie, and past national chaplain of the organization.
Services will be at Meeks Mortuary at 11:30 a.m. Friday. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Friends may call at the mortuary from 4 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and any time before services Friday.
