William Hosea Baker, 72, formerly of Flagstaff and most recently of Camp Verde, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008.

Mr. Baker was born April 17, 1936, in Orange, Calif., to the late Frank and Flossie Mae (Wolford) Baker. He served our country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Joan P. Baker; sons William Baker (Tricia) of Flagstaff, Allan Baker of Duncan and Steve Hicks (Lori) of Camp Verde; daughters Jennifer Rossi (Jeff) of Cataldo, Idaho, Susie McDonald (Dennis) of Camp Verde and Jean Hicks of Inman, Kan.; brother Gary Baker; sister Nancy Hastings; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services with military honors will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Middle Verde Cemetery in Camp Verde. A memorial celebration of his life will also be Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church, 520 N. Switzer Canyon Drive, in Flagstaff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Bread of Life Mission, 1575 S. Sullivan Road, Camp Verde, AZ 86322, or Club 412 Youth Center, 520 N. Switzer Canyon Drive, Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
