Susie was married less than a year to Merritt William Alling. There was a domestic dispute and she ran from the home in fear of her husband, committing suicide by jumping over the railing of a bridge across the Faxon Mill Pond and drowning. A lengthy article about her death appeared in the local paper on Thursday, August 23, 1906.
Susie was originally from Landon Hill, near Chestertown. Survived by her parents and three sisters.
