Doris Joan Baldwin was born April 18th, 1941 in McCloud, California, to proud parents Emma and Amison "Jess" Hensler. Her family, which included four sisters and a brother, moved to Vernonia, Oregon, then Spokane, Washington, and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho where she met and later married Robert "Bob" Baldwin, her husband, of over 54 years, on March 30th, 1957.
Doris and Bob began raising their family in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, moving to Beaverton, Oregon in 1965, and finally settling in Portland, Oregon a year later. Doris was a full-time homemaker whose many "jobs" included mother, nurse, cook, baker, chef, Cub Scout leader, Campfire Girls leader, Little League mother, counselor, teacher, PTA, seamstress, referee, and disciplinarian.
Doris will especially be missed for her cooking, and for hosting of most family holidays and birthday gatherings. She was the catalyst who brought the family and extended family members together. Friends and family were always welcome never needing to call ahead. Doris kept an immaculately clean house, and always had a freshly baked snack ready for company.
Doris is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Vicki Flynn, sons Greg Baldwin, Randy Baldwin, Mark Baldwin, Ross Baldwin, son in-law Terrence "Wren" Flynn, daughter in-laws Donna Baldwin, Diana Baldwin, Robyn Baldwin, Lena Baldwin, grandchildren Joshua Hammel, Ryan Hammel, Zachary Baldwin, Jacob Baldwin, Alyssa Baldwin, Alexa Baldwin, Jordyn Baldwin, Tanner Baldwin, Krista Baldwin, Samantha Cramer, Danny Marciano, great grandson Koby Marciano, sisters Shirley King and Donna Anderson, brother in-laws Ron King, William "Frank" Wilson, and Frank Wilson, sister in-laws Delores Vanni, Shirley Shriner, Jackie Wilson, and numerous nieces, nephews and very good family friends.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes in Portland, Oregon. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Gateway Church, 13300 NE San Rafael in Portland, Oregon. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland, Oregon.
