Abourjilie, 54, a native of Norfolk, worked as a reporter for The Ledger-Star, then went to work in the 1960s for The Public Relations Institute, which became known as the Lawler Ballard Agency, a public relations and advertising firm in Norfolk.
She joined CBN in 1976 as a copy writer and TV producer, later became editor of the network's newsletter and worked as the network's events coordinator.
Abourjilie served as media spokesman for Dede Robertson, wife of CBN founder Pat Robertson, during his presidential campaign. When she returned to the network, she became director of public relations and later was named vice president for public affairs.
''She brought so many gifts to CBN,'' Pat Robertson said in a statement. ''Frankie was a brilliant writer and editor. With her tenderness and strength, she had the ability to communicate that was extremely rare. Her poise, professionalism and friendship will be truly missed.''
Abourjilie is survived by her husband, Edward N. Abourjilie of Chesapeake; two daughters, Rebecca Stricklin and Denise Abourjilie, both in Richmond; a son, Charles Edward Abourjilie of Greensboro, N.C.; her father, Charles Thomas Balfour, and stepmother, Pauline Zoby Balfour, both of Norfolk; and three grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Stricklin and Jordon Abourjilie.
