Sister Marie Henry Ball, 98, with the Sisters of Notre Dame for 80 years, died in the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. She was born, Isabell F. Ball in Dorchester, daughter of Harry W. and Mary E. (Anderson) Ball. She graduated from St. Gregory High School in Dorchester and Emmanuel College in Boston. She entered the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1932. From 1935 to 1962, She was an educator in Boston area. After 27 years of teaching, Sister Marie shifted the focus of her ministry to her religious community. She became a dietician, planning meals and preparing food for many years. She also worked in the Province infirmary in Ipswich.
She leaves a niece, Virginia Lagos of Quincy, and her sisters in religion, the Sisters of Notre Dame. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Mary Ritchie, Sister Virginia Ball S.N.D, and Sister Catherine St. Alice Ball S.N.D. and her brother, Rev. Harry Ball S.J.
