A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Bain worked in the housekeeping department of Mission Hospitals. She was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Beatrice Wilde Ballew, and the widow of Jesse Lynn Bain, Jr., who passed away in 1975. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jesse Lynn Bain, III; sister, Mary Ann Piper; and brother, Richard Ballew.
Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Bain Raines, of Asheville; sister, Kathleen Ray of Asheville; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandson.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
