ROXIE ADAMS Obituary
Mrs. Roxie Jane Adams of De Kalb, Texas passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. She was 97.

Roxie was born October 22, 1913, in Oak Grove, to James L. and Caroline Aydelott Ballew. She was a 1932 graduate of De Kalb High School and a member of First Baptist Church in De Kalb. Roxie was a volunteer with Sunny Acres Nursing Home and De Kalb Senior Citizen Community Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.S. "Bud" Adams; her parents, Jim and Callie Ballew; a brother, James L. Ballew, Jr.; a daughter, Carolyn Kilts; a grandson, Aaron Harper; and two sons-in-law, Ed Watson and Bob Kilts.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Jean Watson of Grand Saline, Texas and Linda and Richard White of De Kalb, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles L. and Frances Adams of Biloxi, Mississippi; two sisters, Reda Praytor of Ft. Worth, Texas and Bobbie Bunger of De Kalb, Texas; six grandchildren, Debbie Griffin, Tony Watson, Julie Desporte, Keith White, Rachael Cherry, and Adam White; 10 great grandchildren, Kyle, Lindsay, Edmon, Jessica, Brandi, Jacob, Sydney, Kennedy, Andrew and Zoe; seven great-great grandchildren, Johnny, Justin, Joel, Griffin, Lofton, Kaitlyn and Landon and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Bates Family Funeral Home with Rev. Richard White and Rev. Troit Stowe officiating. Interment will follow at Woodmen Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Bates Family Funeral Home.
