Dorothy Ballinger Avery of Alamo, TN, went to be with the Lord on March 20, 2010. Mrs. Avery was a retired social worker and teacher. She was a member of the Alamo First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 35 years. Mrs. Avery was active in her church and served on numerous boards within the church and in the community. She will be remembered as a fun loving and spiritual person who loved God, her family, her friends and her church, Mrs. Avery was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Avery. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Colonel Ballinger, five siblings, Clyde Ballinger, Benjamin Ballinger, Myrtle McDaniel, Lillian Walker and Fay Ferguson. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Alamo First Baptist Church with burial at Alamo Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to The Cross Campus Ministry, P.O.
