On July 3, 1962 as Roy Gerald Ballinger, he married Sandra Lee McCloud at Kitsap County, Washington. On May 6, 1994 as Roy G. Ballinger, he was divorced from Sandra L. Ballinger at King County, Washington.

Roy Gerald Ballinger was born on May 7, 1938, in North Hollywood, California, the son of Raymond and Dora Belle Ballinger. He was the youngest of five children. In 1941 his family moved to Grants Pass, Oregon, where they lived on a farm. He graduated from Oregon State University and served in the Navy for three years. He then joined the accounting firm, Arthur Andersen where he became a Certified Public Accountant. Later he became CFO of a number of companies and was the owner of Ballinger Ford Tractor. In 1996 he retired and spent time on his hobby of woodworking. He and his wife moved to Langley on Whidbey Island where they built their dream home. He died on September 6, 2015. He was predeceased by his father, mother, brother, Bud and sisters, Millie and Vera; his first wife, Sandra McCloud and by his second wife’s daughter, Sharon Warden. Survivors included children from his first marriage: one son and daughter-in-law; two daughters and two sons-in-law; five grandchildren; his wife, Rosalie of twenty years; her son and daughter-in-law and her five grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Nina and Norman Farrell; several nieces and nephews and his four-legged friend, Abby. Memorial services were held at Sunset Hills Funeral Home at 1215 145th Place Southeast in Bellevue, followed by a reception. Memorial contributions were suggested in his name to the Alzheimer's Association or the Virginia Mason Heart Institute.
