Edward Bradley Ballinger, Jr., "E.B.," age 91, died August 9, 2006, at Kaiser Hospital in Roseville, California, following a stroke and pneumonia. E.B.. was born in Seattle Washington on February 6, 1915, to Edward B. Ballinger, Sr. and Julia Loose Ballinger. He was a member of a prominent Seattle family that included his grandfather, Richard A. Ballinger, a past mayor and Secretary of Interior in William Taft's Administration. He grew up in the Edmonds, Washington, area at Lake Ballinger. He attended the University of Washington, where he was a Zeta Psi and earned a letter on the swim team. For over 40 years, he was employed in the frozen food industry in Washington and California by Stokley Van Camp, F.I.S.C.O.

He grew-up with Helen Howell in Edmonds. She was the daughter of Zophar C. Howell and Louise Shank Howell. She was a homemaker and artist. She was a deacon at Geneva Presbyterian Church in Modesto. They were married over 57 years, when Helen died in 1995.

He lived in Modesto, California, for over 36 years, where he enjoyed golfing, fishing, duck and pheasant hunting. He was a member of Sons of the American Revolution, Mayflower Society, and a past Elder and Trustee of the church, S.I.R.S.

He is survived by his children, Judith and Brad Ballinger; and granddaughter, Audrey Ballinger, of Sacramento; his niece and nephew, Fred and Anni Ballinger, from Monroe and Skykomish, Washington; and cousins, Shirley Liebenow, Richard Ballinger and Gail Vaughn. His brother, Richard L. Ballinger, is survived by his wife, Melody Ballinger, of Edmonds.

A memorial service was held September 1, 2006 at Geneva Presbyterian Church in Modesto. On September 15, 2006, both Helen and Ed's ashes will be buried in the Ballinger family plot at Lakeview Cemetery in Seattle.
