Funeral services were held for Albert Alton Bang, 65, of Lucedale, on Friday, July 23, 2004, at 10 a.m. from the Crossroads Free Pentecostal Church.
Interment followed in the Crossroads Free Pentecostal Church Cemetery with Rev. Harry Cochran officiating the services. Pallbearers were Stanley Slay, C. G. Steede, Keith Mizell, Lonnie Howell, Butch Rouse, Charlie Flurry, Mike Steede, and Mike Cochran. Honorary pallbearers were the Men's Adult Sunday School Class.
A native of George County, he was a retired process manager in the Power Plant of International Paper Company in Moss Point, a Deacon and Men's Adult Sunday School teacher. He was a true man of God, faithful to his wife, children, grandchildren, church family and friends. An active member of the Crossroads Free Pentecostal Church, he died on July 21, 2004.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Bang and two sisters, Irsa Marie and Annie Faye Bang.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Pope Bang, three daughters, Madeline (Van) Easterling and Kathy (Davy) Sellers, both of Lucedale and Christine Miller Weiland of Gulfport; eight grandchildren, Kandi (Matt) Stevens and Bethany (Drew) Easterling Patch, both of Gulfport, Chad Stevens of Prescott, Ariz., Ashton Easterling, Suzanna Easterling, Hannah Sellers, Devin Alton Sellers and Victoria Sellers, all of Lucedale; a great-grandchild, Mary Christine Helms of Gulfport; his mother, Mary Eugenia Bang of Mobile, a brother, John Darrell (Linda) Bang of Vancleave; and three sisters, Edna (Earl) Dixon of Mobile, Ala., and Annette (R. D.) Byrd and JoAnn (Tommy) Tipton, both of Lucedale.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that contributions be made to the Crossroads Free Pentecostal Church's Mexico Mission Fund at 11145 Hwy. 26 West, Lucedale, MS 39452. The funds will be used to build churches in Mexico.
George County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
