Alfred R. Banks Jr., 78, passed away Sept. 14 in Vacaville. Born on Feb. 19, 1937, Alfred was raised in Plainfield, NJ. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1964.
He met and married his wife, Elizabeth Webster, and they moved to California.
His employment career was focused in the customer service field, finally retiring from the City of Vacaville, McBride Senior Center after 11 years of employment. Earlier in his life, Alfred was very involved in the Fraternal Order of Freemasons and achieved the level of 32nd degree. He was also a lover of jazz, as well as a jazz student.
Memorial mass will be held Monday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m., in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
