Arsene Joseph Baquet, born Dec. 29, 1920, passed away, August 25, 2015, at age 94.

Arsene was born in New Orleans and moved to California after serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Northrop Grumman. Arsene also worked as a professional photographer and loved great music. Lived in Reserve, where Arsene resided and was cared for upon returning to New Orleans in 2011.

He is preceded in death by his wife Julia Green Baquet, parents Arsene Louis Baquet and Susie Howard Baquet, stepmother Audrey Garnier Nicholas Baquet, siblings Ruby Baquet Grant, Lawrence Baquet, Vera Baquet and Harold Francis Baquet.

He is survived by his step-brother Albert Blainey Nicholas and step-sister Velva Nicholas Flot, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Thank you to Homelife in the Gardens, Home Instead Senior Care and to the Southeast LA War Veterans Home in Reserve, where Arsene resided and was cared for upon returning to New Orleans in 2011.

Also, a very special thank you to Ms. Bobbie Smith, who is the very best caregiver in the world.

A funeral mass will be held by the family at Charbonnet-Labat-Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St Philip St., New Orleans, LA, on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at 11 AM.
