Andriena Barbara, 83, a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and shopping for others, died yesterday at the New Dorp Beach home of her daughter.
Born Andriena Attanasio in Manhattan, she moved to Brooklyn as a young woman and moved to her daughter's home in New Dorp Beach last year.
A homemaker, Mrs. Barbara enjoyed cooking Italian dishes. She also liked to travel to Atlantic City and go shopping.
"She was a very giving, generous good person," said her daughter, Carol Barbara, describing how her mother would just pick up items for people when she was out shopping. "She always thought about others."
Mrs. Barbara was a parishioner of St. Finbar R.C. Church, Brooklyn.
Her husband of thirty-five years, Louis, died in 1994. Her son, Stephen, also died in 1994.
In addition to her daughter, Carol, surviving are her daughter, Victoria Campisi; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday from the Hanley Funeral Home, New Dorp, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church, New Dorp.
Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
