Mildred Barbour Bailey, age 90, of Selma died on January 14, 2014 at the SECU Hospice House. Born in Johnston County on April 20, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Willis Calvin and Perlina Surles Barbour. Mrs. Bailey was also preceded in death by her husband Rudolph Bailey; her sister Pauline Creech; her brothers Edwin, Garland, Roscoe, Marvin and Hoover Barbour; and her son-in-law Sherrill Broadaway. She was a member and former Sunday School Teacher at Branch Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She and her sister-in-law operated Mildred's Beauty Shop in Selma for over 30 years. After her retirement she worked for the Johnston County Arthritis Foundation.
