She lived all of her life in Pittsylvania County and Danville. She was a graduate of Dan River High School.
She had retired from the former Davis Linen Company, and was a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church.
She was married to the late Fred Adkins, who died June 1, 1992. She is survived by two brothers, Donald Barbour and Charles G. Barbour; and three sisters, Shirley B. Rogers, Virginia B. Hayden and Alice B. Barksdale.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Zada B. Matthews, and two brothers, George D. Barbour Jr. and Kyle Barbour.
A graveside service will be conducted June 21 in the mausoleum of Danville Memorial Gardens.
