Frank A. Barker, Sr. 78, passed away Monday October 28, 2013 surrounded by family.

Born March 1, 1935 in Lynn, Mass. he was the son of the late George and Eva (Doane) Barker.

Mr. Barker served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later worked for more than 30 years as a Maintenance Coordinator for the University of New Hampshire.

Frank loved sports especially watching football and baseball, and also enjoyed listening to his scanner.

Members of his family include his children Evamarie Porter and husband David and Thomas Barker and wife Ruth all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Kelly Whitten and husband Doug of Rochester; Cynthia Kennard and husband Patrick of Nottingham; Tracy LaMontagne and husband Thomas of Strasburg, Pa.; Patricia Barker and Tim Legere of Somersworth; and Frank Barker, Jr. of Sebring, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He also held a special place in his heart for his friend Jim Lapolla.

He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Eagan) Barker and his son William Barker.

Family and friends may visit Saturday November 2, 2013 from 11am-1pm at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, N.H.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow in the New Cold Spring Cemetery in East Rochester.
