LUCILE F. (LAPP) LEHMAN, 95, passed away on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at The Towne House Retirement Center. Born March 8, 1917, in Monroe ville, she was one of seven children and the daughter of Virgil and Estella Barkley. She graduated from Hoagland High School, and moved to Fort Wayne, where she worked for Meyer Bros. Drug Store. She then became a lifelong homemaker. "She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother." Additionally, she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She is survived by a sister, Barbara Huston of Fort Wayne; children, Dianne J. Meister of Nashville, Ind. and Thomas H. (Rebecca) Lapp of Indianapolis, and Steven V. Lapp of Northville, Mich.; stepdaughters, Susan Lehman of New York City and Cheryl (Jack) Stark of Columbia City; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard H. Lapp; second husband, Fred C. Lehman; brothers, Billy, Chalmer and Verlon Barkley; and sisters, Glennis Barkley and Virginia Perry. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour before the service.
