OCTOBER 30 - Dorothy Barksdale Andrews, 99, died Wednesday, October 29, 2003 In Farmville. She was a native of Roanoke and was the daughter of the late Alexander Sydnor and Fannie Adams Barksdale. She was the widow of E. Richard Andrews. Mrs. Andrews was a life member of Calvary Baptist Church of Roanoke, taught Children's Sunday School Classes and a member of the WMS and Angelus Bible Class. She was an avid gardener and holds a life membership with the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. She is survived by her daughter. Dr. Nancy Ann Andrews of Farmville and 20 nieces. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday m Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends this evening (Thursday) from 6:45 to 8 p.m. at Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home. Remembrances may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 608 Campbell Ave., SW, Roanoke, VA 24016, The local Commonwealth Chorale or the Nancy Andrews Scholarship Fund at Longwood University, Farmville.
