Obituary:
Services for Calvin R. Barksdale of Smithdale are 3 p.m. Monday, March 6 at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb with burial in Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Cemetary in the Auburn Community.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Barksdale, 74, died March 3, 2006 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. He was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 6, 1931 to William Deaver and Hattie Davis.

He was a retired supervisor at John's Mansville Insulation Industry.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Elaine Watts; his brother, Russell Barksdale; and his sisters, Ora Lee Kimball, of Beaumont, Texas, and Eula Whittington, of Houston, Texas.

Survivors are his son, Corey R. Barksdale and his wife Pamela, of Smithdale; his daughter, Janice Barksdale Duck, of Kemah, Texas; his brothers, Frank Barksdale and Harold Barksdale, both of Jaspar, Ark., and Tommy Barksdale, of Smithdale; eight grandchildren, Tammy Whaley Watts, Shane Duck, Rachel "Longlois" Duck, Stewart Duck, Donnie Barksdale, Christy Powers, Vinnie Barksdale and Chris Kyzar; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers are Shane Duck, Stewart Duck, Donnie Barksdale, Vinnie Barksdale, and Chris Kyzar; and a nephew, Michael Watts.

The honorary pallbearer is Talbert Watts.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association at P.O. Box 409410, Atlanta, Ga. 30384-9410.
