Alene Barnes, 92, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 in JFK Hartwyck at Cedarbrook in Plainfield.
Born in Jacksonville, Tex., she lived in the Bronx, NY from 1946 to 1998 before moving to NJ. She was formerly employed with Premier Laundry in North Bergen, NJ.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar Barnes in 1986; a grandson, Steve Brown in 1991 and a granddaughter, Dinita Brown in 1999.
Surviving are a son, Rayford Williams (Vernice) and a daughter, Dorothy Brown; five grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two brothers, Louie and Floyd Hill.
Funeral Friday 11am in Brown's Funeral Home, 122 Plainfield Ave., Plainfield preceded by viewing at 10am. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
