ALLEN, Lucille - Rossville, GA resident (formerly of McMinnville) and DeKalb County, TN native Lucille Allen, age 78, was born September 30, 1931 and died October 24, 2009 at her son's residence following an extended illness. She was born in Smithville, TN, but lived most of her life in McMinnville. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was there for everyone and showed love to the end. A cafeteria worker at Magnetek-Century Electric and member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Girtha Jones Barnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Roscoe, Charles and Cordell Barnes and three sisters, Marie Rigsby, Bobbie Warren and Cleo Kelly. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Mike and Gail Allen of Chattanooga, TN and Steve Allen of Rossville, GA; two grandsons and their spouses, Eric and Kim Allen of Chattanooga, TN and Aaron and Jodee Allen of Rossville, GA; two great-grandchildren, Katie and Cody Allen of Rossville, GA; one brother and sister-in-law, Billy Jack and Alice Barnes of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2009 in High's Chapel with Gary McBride and Dwight Knowles officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at High's.
