Services for Mrs. GERTHA LEA ASHMORE, age 63. of Smithville, , were held on May 4, at 2.p.m. at the Chapel of Walker Funeral Home. Gary McBride officiated with burial following at Jefferson Cemetery.
Mrs. ashmore died on May 1, at DeKalb General Hospital.
A native of DeKalb COunty, she was a member of Mt. Hope THE Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, John Allen Ashmore , of Alexandria, a daughter, Deborah Lea Cummngs of Goodlettsville, a sister, Linda Colwell of Smithville, a brother, Bill Barnes of Smithville and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two children, Carl Ricky Brown and Carolyn Sue Taylor.
Serving as pallbearers were, Jason Colwell, Billy Jack Barnes, Cordell Barnes, Tony Reeder, Junior Jones, and Lelon Thweatt.
Walker Funeral Home Inc. of Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
