Services were 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Carthage First Baptist with Dr. Eddie Hamilton and Rev. Stephen Evans officiating. Burial was in Harris Cemetery.
Wilcox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Barnett was a native of Leake County. She was a of Carthage First Baptist Church for over 70 years during which time she was a member of the choir, a Sunday School teacher, Nursery and GA leader. She was also involved in the Extended Care Ministry. She owned and operated Barnett's Department Store in Carthage.
Preceding her in death was a son, James Earl Goolsby.
Survivors include: her husband, James M. Barnett of Kosciusko; 2 sons, Bobby (Merril) Goolsby of Biloxi and Joseph (Candy) Goolsby of Flora; daughter-in-law, Sandy Goolsby of Carthage; 2 sisters, Mary Splain of Carthage and Jewell Ratliff of Clinton; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
