Adda May Barnett Dies This Afternoon
Miss Adda May Barnett, 73, a retired school teacher, died at 12;35 o'clock this afternoon at her home six miles southwest of Decatur after a two year illness of carcinoma.
She was born in Adams Country August 17, 1868, the daughter of James and Lydia Andrews-Barnett, and was lifelong resident of the county. She was a member of the Monroe Methodist church.
Survivors include two brothers, George Barnett, at home and Jerry Barnett of Granite City, Ill; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Andrews, at home, and Mrs. John Stoneburner of Washington township, and a niece, Mrs. Delota Engle who made her home with the family.
Funeral services will held at 2p.m. Sunday at the Monroe Methodist church, Rev. R.F. Hart officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. The body will be returned to the residence from the Gillig and Doan funeral home Saturday evening.
