Milo Barnum, son of Thaddeus, was born at Dover, Dutchess Cty, NY. He settled, in 1820, in Lime Rock, CT, where he acquired posession of the iron foundry there. With his son, US Senator William Henry Barnum, and his son-in-law, Leonard Richardson, he founded the firm of Barnum, Richardson & Co. The firm was for many years the premier producer of railroad car wheels in the United States.
(This grave was relocated from the old cemetery in Lime Rock, which was closer to the iron furnaces. Note this inscription is on the back of the stone of his son, Sen. William H. Barnum)
